Canon has just announced that they will be releasing the EOS-1D X Mark II which will be releasing in India, April 2016 for the price of Rs. 4,55,995 or about $6746 US. Dollars. This price is for the body alone.
Featuring a newly designed 20.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, powered by Canon’s Dual DIGIC 6 image processor, the expanded ISO range has now been extended to 409,600 which is about a whole stop higher then the previous model, the 1DC. With 61 iTR selectable autofocusing points, and quick 14fps burst mode with AF tracking and 16fps in Live View, this body seems to be a well put together work of art.
That long awaited for, 4K video recording, and 120fps video mode for slow-motion video, all wrapped up in a magnesium alloy dust and water resistant sealed body, Canon has really come out with camera to match the times we live in today. Photographers, videographers, artists, and hobbits have all been asking for these exact specs, body builds, and capabilities, and Canon has answered... the question now is, is the ticket price all worth it?
Through the next couple years, we are sure to see that price drop dramatically through the releases of other quicker, more crisp shooting bodys but for the time being, here is a video shot in 4K below.
“The EOS-1D X Mark II is Canon’s answer to the top rung professional photographers’ unrelenting pursuit of excellence in imagery. The EOS-1D X Mark II is squarely aimed at top professionals who demand the best of speed, accuracy and results, and essentially cannot afford to miss a moment. With 14.0 fps & 4K video recording at up to 60fps, sports, fast action, wildlife photographers, as well as videographers, will find the EOS-1D X Mark II to be a revolutionary step up” said Andrew Koh, Vice President, Consumer Imaging & Information Centre, Canon India.
